A little history of Valenza (Italy), the city of gold
The Italian goldsmith art, starting from Valenza (Italy), represents one of the excellences of Made in Italy. Harmonious synthesis between past and present, classic and modern, the Italian goldsmith's art is able to field the excellence of craftsmanship to express beauty in the production of jewelry and goldsmiths.
In Italy there is a thriving and recognized luxury goldsmith industry represented by the so-called "gold districts" among which that of Valenza, a city near Alessandria, stands out, recognized as the international capital of jewelry. The Valencian district includes eight contiguous municipalities where high-end Valenza jewelery and goldsmith items are produced and sold.
The notoriety of Valenza (Italy) originates in the second half of the 19th century thanks to the first industrial production of Vincenzo Melchiorre, goldsmith, entrepreneur and jeweler (Valenza 1845 - 1925) considered the father of Valencian and Italian jewelery. After several years of apprenticeship in Turin, Paris and Florence, Vincenzo Melchiorre founded in Valenza in 1873 the company Melchiorre & C which in 1911 boasted a staff of 86 goldsmiths and was considered one of the most important goldsmiths in Italy of the time.
Valenza boasts the highest density of goldsmiths in Italy, the largest number of goldsmiths and jewelers, and combines the tradition of high craftsmanship with a strong attitude to innovation to give life to Valenza's jewels of unparalleled manufacturing.
A high-end jewelry deserves excellent presentation boxes and accessories, such as those you find in the
Theca Astucci range that you meet a few kilometers from the city of Valenza (Italy).
